Description of content: This draft revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 990 part 1 adopts the International Standard IEC 60086-1 - Ed. 11.0 (35/1270/CDV: 2009-09-18). This new standard significantly differs from the old standard; the major differences are:
- Reduction of the permitted concentration of heavy metals in primary batteries according to the European Directive 2006/66/EC.
- Limitation of the standard's scope to 14 battery models.
