FIXIT One Million Candlepower Rechargeable Spotlights
Full Product Description
This recall involves the One Million Candlepower Spotlight, which is a rechargeable halogen spotlight. The handheld spotlight is made of yellow plastic and has a black label that reads "FIXIT Tools UP TO 1,000,000 CANDLE POWER" or "FIXIT Rechargeable Spotlight." The spotlight comes with an AC power charger and a 12 volt car utility adapter.
Hazard Identified
The adapter used to charge the Spotlight may overcharge the battery, causing venting or rupturing of the battery cell. This poses a chemical hazard to users.
There have been 13 reports of property damage and/or minor injuries in the United States.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these Spotlights.
Corrective Action
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Spotlights and contact Innovage to arrange for a full refund of the regular retail price. For purchases made above the regular retail price, additional refunds will be offered with valid receipts.

Number Sold
Approximately 143, 060 of the recalled spotlights were sold through door-to-door sales and by small retail establishments such as the Federated Co-Operatives Ltd., Lawton Drug, and Sobey's Ontario.
Time Period Sold
The recalled products were sold from March 2003 to May 2008.
