Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: The Draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On Approval of the Technical Regulation on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" (42 pages, in English)

Description of content: The Draft of the Technical Regulations provides the establishment of restriction for the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment such as: household equipment; computer and telecommunications equipment; household appliances; lighting equipment; toys, leisure and sports equipment; automatic dispensers; monitoring and control instruments.

Objective and rationale, including the nature of urgent problems where applicable: The Draft Resolution aims for harmonization of national legislation with relevant legislation of the European Union concerning technical regulation, in particular the Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on harmonization of the legislation of the Member-States relating to electrical and electronic equipment, which cancels the Directive 2002/98/EC since 27 January 2003.

Currently, the Technical Regulation of electrical and electronic equipment, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1057 of 3 December 2008, is in force and which was adopted with consideration of provisions of the Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on harmonization of the laws of the Member-States relating toelectrical and electronic equipment.
